     Missions

Chair: Beverly Roberston

The Mission Committee sees itself as an extension of the joys and concerns of the church and as a way to pass back the blessings of God to the people in our church, our community, and our world.

The Mission Committee coordinates several events and activities in the church. Some examples are the the Cupcake Wars, other Kick-off Sunday events,& the Mission Marketplace/Bazaar that’s held every other year. And, of course, they provide the Cookie Walk at Christmas time. These treats are always, always appreciated.

Yet what is really wonderful is the two things that all these different activities have in common. First, it takes the support and the involvement of so many church members, and second, all of the funds raised are donated to various people and mission organizations.

What types of people and projects are supported in the past, you may ask?  The Congo Water Project, Emmaus House of Saginaw, Toys for Tots, Taymouth Church’s Helping Hands, our Lakey Scholarship Fund, local groups like Special Kids in Action dance group, and our missionary family.

The spirit of joy and fun that fills everything they do is what really makes the Mission Committee a special and important part of Christ’s work here at Taymouth.

New helpers for Mission Committee are always welcome to join in spreading the good news of Jesus in our world.
