FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF TAYMOUTH BUILDING AND FACILITIES USAGE POLICY
General Rules
1. The church is not responsible for lost or damaged items during an event.
2. Groups will be held responsible for damage to the Church facilities or property.
3. The use of alcohol is absolutely prohibited in any of the Church's facilities or anywhere on the property.
4. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside any of the Church's facilities. Smoking outside should always be done at a proper and respectable distance from the building's doors.

I. Categories of groups potentially/currently using the Church facility
A. Outside Group: A group that is not directly related to the program and/or ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth. This includes groups connected with a for-profit enterprise and groups that do not fall under one of the following categories. Groups whose purpose and aim are in conflict with the ministry and the mission of the Church shall be refused rental.
B. Associated Group: A not-for-profit group encouraged by the program and ministry of the Church but managed by an outside agency. This "Associated Group" status is decided by Session.
C. In-house Groups: Groups supported and managed through the program and ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth.
II. Rooms available for rental
A. Fellowship Hall
• Purpose: Recreation, lecture, large dinners, fundraisers
• Capacity: 133 people
B. Geneva Room
• Purpose: Informal meeting room
• Capacity: 15 people
C. Sanctuary (main level)
• Purpose: Recitals, concerts, lectures, weddings, and funerals
• Capacity: 200 people
III. Building use fees
The Pastor, or designee on behalf of the Session, handles scheduling decisions. All decisions are final.
• Scheduled time will begin when the building is opened for the group and ends when the last person leaves the facility.
• Custodial fee will be $100.00.
• All First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth In-house Groups take priority for scheduling; usually no more than one event per day for the building.
• The kitchen is an approved commercial kitchen. The convection oven shall only be used by a licensed caterer. Groups/persons using the Fellowship Hall may only use the refrigerator, regular range, and regular oven.
Fellowship Hall
• A $100.00 damage deposit MUST be paid when the hall is reserved. The damage deposit will be returned if no damage is found. All other fees are due to the church office seven (7) days prior to the date of the event.
• Current Members: $50.00 will be charged for all hall rentals. Church-owned supplies cannot be used. The convection oven shall only be used by a licensed caterer. Members using the Fellowship Hall may only use the refrigerator, regular range, and regular oven.
•Outside Groups: $75.00 per event. Church-owned supplies and kitchen equipment cannot be used.
• Associated Groups: No charge for regularly scheduled meetings. Special events will be $50.00.
Geneva Room
• Current Members: No charge.
• Outside Groups: $25.00 per event.
• Associated Groups: Regular meetings at no charge, $25.00 for special events.
Sanctuary
• Outside Groups: May use the sanctuary for recitals, concerts, or lectures with Christian content at a cost of $200 per event. The use of the church’s sound system or organ must be approved by the pastor/ organist.
• Associated Groups: May use the sanctuary for recitals, concerts, or lectures with Christian content, $100 per event.
• Weddings and funerals please request the Wedding Policy or Funeral Policy.
IV. Set-up and clean-up
• Set-up includes: Placement and decoration of tables, placement of table service, table coverings, etc. are the responsibility of the renting group.
• Clean up includes: Washing of food preparation items, dishes, tableware, cleaning kitchen areas, cleaning tables, chairs, and the floor and picking up and bagging trash is the responsibility of the renting group.
V. Food preparation and service
• Groups using Church facilities may serve food in Fellowship Hall with the appropriate cleanup. Groups are responsible for acquiring their own caterers. Caterers must be licensed.
• The Church is not responsible for perishable, refrigerated or frozen food or the storage of food.
•The Church reserves the right to have someone representing the Church at all functions using the Church's buildings and/or grounds.
